Getting started

Om-E is two pieces: a desktop app (the workspace) and a Chrome extension (the page helper). Both run locally.

1. Install

Get the app from the download page — beta invites currently go out through the community. The installer adds the Chrome extension, or links you to it on first run.

2. Capture your first page

Open any article and ask the page helper a question about it. Like the answer? Capture the page: Om-E writes a cleaned topic with the source URL and capture date attached, indexes it, and attaches it to your current chat.

3. Make a Knowledge Base

Create a KB for whatever you're working on — a client, a build, a research area — and save topics into it as you browse. A KB is a separate memory: load it into a chat for deep focus, or attach it so the agent can pull from it when a question needs it.

4. Ask across everything

New chat, attach the KB, ask. Answers cite the topics they came from — click a citation to open the source. Choose the context level per turn (Low, Medium, High) to control how much history rides along.
