Licence & payments

Om-E is rented, not metered. You buy the front end for a period of time — a month, a quarter, or a year — and bring your own AI: an OpenRouter key, a ChatGPT plan, local models. The licence is the whole bill. We never meter a token, mark up your usage, or hold your keys.

Pair the app to your account

Your licence lives on your Om-E account, not on your machine, so the app needs to know whose it is. In the app: Settings → Account → Sign in to Om-E Cloud. A browser tab opens with a short code already filled in — check it matches the one showing in the app, then click Approve this device. Once paired, the app shows your licence and how many days it has left.

Buying a term

Checkout opens in the browser from the pricing page or your account page. Card, Apple Pay and Link all work; payment is handled entirely by Stripe — Om-E never sees your card. Monthly and quarterly terms renew automatically so your work never stops. Annual is a one-time purchase — it simply ends unless you buy again, and any extra time you buy stacks onto the end of what you already have.

Auto-renewal, plainly

Auto-renew is on by default for monthly and quarterly licences — that is what keeps them running. The switch to turn it off is front and centre on your account page, one click, no retention maze. Turning it off does not end anything: you keep every day you have paid for, and the licence simply lapses at the end of the term instead of renewing.

You will never be charged silently for a longer term: quarterly renewals get an email heads-up before the charge, with the amount and the date. If auto-renew is off, we email you before the licence runs out — about a week ahead and again the day before — so a lapse is never a surprise.

When a licence ends

Om-E stops running turns and the app asks you to renew. Nothing is deleted: your knowledge bases, topics and chats live on your machine and are exactly where you left them. Renew and the workspace picks up as if nothing happened.

Days left, and where to check everything

The app's Settings → Account tab shows your licence and days remaining, with a Manage licence button that opens your account page — the single place for renewal, the auto-renew switch, and your purchase history. Payment receipts come from Stripe by email; for refunds or anything odd with a purchase, contact support — we can see the same history you can.

What about model costs?

Model usage runs on the providers you connect, billed by them at their prices with no markup from us. Your credentials stay on your machine and never touch our servers. The biggest cost lever is the context dial — a Low-context turn can use a fraction of the tokens a full-history turn does — and the model picker shows relative price for choosing cheaper models for background work.
